The Ferret Den, a non-profit organization, is both a shelter and a
club. Everyone involved is a volunteer, no one draws a salary or is
monetarily rewarded for any work done at, or for, the Den. We send out
free information packs on ferret care and health problems. We do
rescues and take in unwanted ferrets. If the Den is full, your name
will be put on a waiting list. We do not take in more animals than we
can properly care for. Each ferret is given individual attention and
played with daily. The Den adopts out ferrets to responsible families
with the hope they will have a permanent home for their lifetime. We
have ferrets from 10 months to 4 years of age. You are expected to
come in and spend time with the potential adoptees to be sure you are
compatible, a ferret is not a pet for everyone. We encourage anyone
even just thinking about getting a ferret to stop by and get some
hands on experience. We also do referrals on ferret friendly
veterinarians in your area. Boarding is done for a minimal fee.
Reservations are recommended.
Members receive a monthly newsletter and a 10% discount on adoptions,
boarding and any sales items. We have handmade hammocks, sleep sacks
and cage pads. Special orders are available. Members are also
available for talks and demonstrations to groups at no charge.
