Adoptable Ferrets

Ferret Den Ferrets Looking for a Permanent Home

The foremost thought in your mind when thinking of adopting from a shelter should be giving a needy animal a home, not how young or cheap you can acquire a ferret.

Name: Copper
Color: Chocolate
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 09/18/05

Copper was turned into the shelter because the family lost interest. He had a partner who passed away about six months ago. Copper is a sweet adorable fellow who plays out with six other ferrets.

Name: Jackpot
Color: Marked White
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 02/07/10

Jackpot was turned in as a nasty biter and he may be. We think he is more scared than anything. We are working with him slowly. He is also deaf. We will not be placing him for quite some time.

Name: Cash
Color: Mutt
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 12/28/08

Name: Loki
Color: Albino
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 11/09/08

Name: Johnny
Color: Sable
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 12/14/08

These three boys are very playful, friendly and well behaved. Their owner had lost his job and couldn’t afford them any longer. Cash, Loki and Johnny used to have their own room so they will need plenty of play time out.

Name: Pewter
Color: Dark-Eyed White
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 09/01/06

Name: Asti
Color: Champagne
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 04/06/08

Pewter and Asti arrived with Fiona and Sierra. The four have been split two pairs so they will have a better chance of finding a new home. They still all play out together and are doing well. Everyone likes playing in the packing peanut box and Sierra loves to take and hide all the small toys.

Name: Fiona
Color: Marked White
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 02/09/09

Name: Sierra
Color: Panda
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 06/16/09

Name: Lace
Color: Silver
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 01/23/07

The person turning her in did not know her name or sex. Lace is sweet and frisky. We were told the ferret’s owner, who had lived with them had moved out of state and just left the ferret. They didn’t want anything to do with or for her. Lace is a neat, clean girl who loves to jump and play. She does get along with others.

Name: Spitfire
Color: Sable with a white bib and white front toes
Sex: Female
Date of Birth:
04/26/09

This ferret was turned in because she would bite and scratch and they didn’t want to put up with her anymore. We think they thought she would behave like a dog. Spitfire has been here a week now and still no bites or scratching.

Name: Glory
Color: Dark-Eyed White
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 11/23/06

Name: Kassie
Color: Sable
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 11/20/06

They are very sweet little girls who are shy, playful and very curious. Glory has trouble with her back left leg. She is on a daily dose of prednisone. We have had her to the vet twice and are still trying to figure exactly what is wrong. Glory does fine on carpeting but slides on linoleum.

Name: Diesel
Color: Chocolate Roan
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 03/16/07

Diesel came to The Den with a partner but was soon put as a single. All he did was pick on his friend and a lot of screaming ensued. Diesel is hard to figure out. He does not like to be held and when he roughhouses out Diesel becomes very nippy.

Name: Molly
Color: Dark-Eyed White
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 02/05/05

Molly is a very solid girl with a tail that is maybe 2 inches long. She came to us from a girl who got her off of Craig’s list. She was told Molly was one and a half and got along with other ferrets. Both statements were false. Molly is definitely a single. She plays well by herself and has a great time.

Name: Marty
Color: Dark-Eyed-White
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: 01/05/07

Name: Ditto
Color: Chocolate
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 03/11/07

Marty and Ditto are a very lively playful pair who are very busy when out. Ditto, a little toy collector, is always busy hiding them away and Marty loves to dook and hop especially when you tickle him and then let him jump away.

Name:Sassy
Color: Mutt
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 06/13/08

Name: Stitch
Color: Chocolate
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: 06/05/08

These two are wild and crazy. They were not handled very much and both are naughty little biters. The girls play well together and love to chase but at this time they would definitely need an experienced owner.
